Hello,
I am the proud owner of an AT&T Galaxy S2 phone. I must say there are a lot of bells and whistles to work with on this new phone. I'm glad I found this forum to start my journey. I got a fantastic deal on the phone and I just hope the phone doesn't have a bad motivator. So I intend to use the intensely to make sure it's not going to crap out on me.
Phone history: Originally I owned a Prepaid Nokia 5160i. Got tired of minute cards and switched to a post-paid account. I went to a Sony Ericson s710a (my original love. I miss that heavy clunker at times). One washing machine and high heat dryer accident later, I bought a Motorola Z6. A long time putting up with a crappy camera that couldn't take a stable shot even on a tripod, I moved to a Sony Ericsson C905a. If it wasn't for that proprietary data jack (that was starting to wear out), I'd still be with it. But then I saw the great deal on this Samsung Galaxy SII and I upgraded.
At the moment of this post, my phone is as AT&T intended (ACK!) on firmware I777UCKH7, Android OS 2.3.4 and I added a 32GB MicroSD to it (for I gotta have space, space, space. I gotta have space.). Also saw the need for a Ballistic SG case for it.
Apps I have already downloaded: Angry Birds, Lighter by Progimax (free version), Plume, Out of Milk (free version), WSDOT (state transportation app), QR Droid, MS Tag, ES File Explorer, Tiny Flashlight +LED, Shazam, Easy Task Killer Advanced and Easy Battery Saver. Always looking for new apps that are useful or better than what I have now. I went through two other flashlight programs before getting the one I have now.![]()
I've noticed that I really can't operate it with one hand like my ole C905a. But that is probably true with all touchscreen phones. Like my C905a, I intend to restore the manufacturers firmware onto this phone. But obviously there is a lot of reading to be done before I attempt that. So far the camera is really good with this phone and that is one of the most important things to me after a clear quality of sound when talking on the phone.
Yeah...that's about it for an introduction. Enjoy the novel. I do that from time to time.
