MMS & Updates

Hey,

So I have a SGS2 for AT&T, but my carrier is T-Mobile. I bought the code to unlock the phone on a website. But that leaves me with a few questions:

1. When the new update comes out, will that lock my phone? Or, what exactly and how do I exactly update? Because, I get the feeling like I'll need to go through AT&T to get the update, and well you see the problem.

2. I still haven't found exactly how to make it so that my phone can get MMS. I realize that it is because I'm not using my company's phone, but then, when I also use the BUMP app, where I can transfer a file via bluetooth, my bluetooth doesn't connect to other phones.

3. Oh yeah, one more thing, if I root it now, after unlocking it, what will it do to the phone?

1) It shouldn't, Nor should it affect you updating.
3) Will give you fall access to the phones file system.

You won't get 4G with an unlocked phone on the T-mobile network.

So because I don't get 4g, it doesn't allow me to receive MMS?

Have you tried sending one.

Yeah, and I've tried downloading one, but it continues to say downloading non stop.

Does your internet work, if not that would be a reason why.

Yeah for some reason my data doesn't work on the phone. Well to start off, I don't have data, so I turned it off, but then I tried a sim WITH data, and it still didn't work.

Check your API settings. Or your phone may just not be compatible with your network setup.

To recieve MMS you should have data enabled.....
