    Advice on my SGS+ please.

Hi, I've bought an SGS+ in Riyadh. It came with GB2.3.3 installed and is in stock condition. I have a Saudi sim in it. Since reading on the web about the phone, I'm wondering what model I've got (i.e. is it Euro, Asian etc). I have noticed that going on Android Market, some apps show as being incompatible with my location and (for instance) although I have downloaded the latest Google Maps update, the phone won't install it. Weird, as the phone came with GM pre installed. I'm due to fly into UK in the next few days and will put my UK sim into the phone and see if this changes things.
The info I've take from the phone is:
    PDA - I9001JPKF7
    Phone - I9001XXXKF8
    CSC - I9001OJPKF3

Can anyone tell me what these codes are?
    Thanks.

Click on the red link below for information.

Where did you buy the phone from. You have a Middle East firmware on, which you maybe able to change to European by flashing.

Due to being on a Middle Eastern firmware, this will have an impact on what you can see in the market. You maybe able to change the CSC to one that allows you better market access. See the Red link below

I bought the phone from Jarir Bookstore in Riyadh. Reading your link has raised more questions...
How do I access the CSC selection menu on Gingerbread; and how do I input letters using the keypad?
I guess I need to flash the phone to change the CSC code to a UK one? How would I do this?
    Cheers.

    Don't need to enter letters.

This is for the SGS so yours maybe different. Type: *#272*IMEI#. (IMEI, is your IMEI number you need to input. The * and # also need to be entered).

This may give you a list of CSC codes, ie: KOR, CPW, XEU (Think this is the UK one), Pick one. This will also Factory Rest your phone.

If you don't have the required CSC code or you only have one, you maybe able to flash a different CSC file with odin.

Note, this may affect your network availability, so make a note of what version you are using.

Typed that code in and got the following: Sales code KSA.
Alternatives: XSS, XSG, WAN, TUN, THR, PAK; These are UAE, Morocco, Tunisia, Iran and Pakistan.
If I changed the CSC code to UK would I still be able to use my Saudi sim in the phone or should I wait until I return permanently to UK?
I havent really got alot on my phone atm apart from pre installed apps and some free ones I installed; would it be worth backing these up or just reinstall via Android Market after the CSC change?
Where can I get instructions on how to carry out a CSC change?
    Thanks.

Don't know, but you could try and if it doesn't work flash back the original CSC.

Read guides on how to flash via odin (Or Heimdall).

Or wait till your back in the UK to flash a different firmware. (Unless you need a middle eastern language).
