i have a hard case which has 2 little splits in it i got the hard case because when i drop it it wont damage the phone as much as it would with a gel case is this right? i wanna be sure so i can either get a new hardcase or look at a gel one

I use a Silicon case. Adds about 2mm thickness overall, easy to remove phone if needed, doesn't crack and has protected my phone flawlessly since I've owned it.
It deserves a VC.

I have a case mate and its fine, very tough, it does make the phone a bit thicker which is fine for me. ONly issue i can think of is the case creates like a lip round the case so trying to text might a bit tricky.

Depends how much you value your phone, last phone i had was teh htc desire and the case i bought was a few quid but it was quite good and wanted to find 1 of similar quality but as of yet not found 1 so thats why i went for the case mate tough and dont regret it.
i had an hardcase and my gps signal went all bad!!! silicone weight less , less space, but not as good looking as some hard cases!
