    wallpaper size

Hello. I've a little problem dealing with wallpapers.

I want to use one of my pictures in way of wallpaper. But the picture doesn't fit with the resolution and one asks to resize the picture (in fact, to select a part of the picture).

Does it exist a way to keep the entire picture and to define it in wallpaper ? (I just wish that the size of the picture fits the resolution of the standard resolution of galaxy's wallpaper).

Sorry for my english, I'm french. And thank you in advance

I found that even at 980x800 it still only lets you select part of the picture. The way I get around this is to use a picture editor (I use Gimp).

Open up your picture, (edit to 980x800),
Then open a new page at a higher res, (ie,1600x1200),
Cut your picture and paste into the higher res picture,
Save and put onto your phone. You should be able to see hole picture now.

Waou! Thanks. I conclude that the galaxy s is not able to resize automatically a picture though my old nokia n65 (now crushed in pieces) did it...

Can I download an app to do this directly in the phone instead to come by the computer ?

I pushed an image with 1280 x 1024 resolution into the phone and was able to select 98% of the image and it fit nicely on the home screen without having to edit anything.. So maybe you could try that and see how it goes for you.

Photoshop has a free app in the marketplace. I'm not sure if you're able to re-size pictures though. Worth a try though as it's free.

That's strange. I cropped a much larger file in photoshop to 980x800 & the entire picture fit perfectly on my phone without distortion.

i would like to figure out a way to deal with aspect ratios. since no one part of the backgroud is shown at once anyway, it could easily be an extra wide picture, for example 16:9, which would allow it to swipe an even larger area when you swipe pages. i wish i could have wider pictures, its 100% logistic. no way to do this right?

I don't know how you did to fit your pictures perfectly with the screen. I just tried to fit a 300*450 jpg and I can select only half the picture...

    dammit

If you hold the edge of the select box, you can expand it to fit the full image.
