    Odd wifi issue!

Firstly, hello everyone - I've been a member for quite a while now but have never posted, the search function does actually work for me!

I've just upgraded from the S to the SII having enjoyed the old one immensely, but it's got a weird wifi problem that I seem to be on my own with.

It connects fine, works seemingly okay, but it won't allow continuous access to quite a few websites (forums or data heavy pages in particular). It will constantly access my hotmail account and let me send emails via the browser. It works just fine via data, but not on wifi. The websites it doesn't like can still be occasionally accessed, just not all of the time. When it won't load a page I can still immediately access other pages.

I've cleared caches, reset the router, disconnected wifi and done the 'forget this network', turned phone off and removed the battery... I don't know where to go from here.

    Any ideas?

So far I've only got my connection to test it against, I'm housebound until I've done my taxes

Orange sent some updates today that made no difference, but they seemed to think I had an age restriction applied to my phone. It would make sense, some sites work 100% of the time but others only just "let me in the door" so to speak. The first page will mostly load about 80% but then it stops. Sometimes I can get three or four pages in before it locks up

All other gadgets (including my old faithful SGS) work fine on wifi.

Don't know whether to start new thread or use this one. I also have an odd WiFi problem. When connecting to household WIFI, the SII scans, gets password, obtains IP address, says it has remembered, then immediately starts scanning again whereupon the just prior connection becomes disabled. I am in Panama where cable company limits the number of simultaneous devices, but going offline on another doesn't solve the problem. This happens on both of my Android devices, whereas my husband can get on with his SII with no problem. This is an unlocked Euro version. I am pretty sure (though not 100%) that I was able to use the household WIFI at least once a few weeks ago. Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.

I've been able to test my phone on another wifi network today and it seems to work just fine without any problems, so it must be something to do with my router. Bummer, but also glad my new phone works properly!

@LANDREW, my old galaxy S had a similar problem once I'd updated my firmware to 2.3.5, it would log me off my home wifi once every 60 seconds or so, then reconnect me immediately. It drained my battery really badly. I changed my router settings from "stay connected always" to stay connected for one day. I'm not convinced it's the same problem as yours though, but it certainly fixed my problem!
