Make sure you've selected the right resolution and there's an indoor setting.
Failing that try a different camera app. HDR Camera is a good one for still subjects.

Tried the HDR camera, not very impressed. Takes ages to take the photo, apparantly it takes 2 photos. Maybe ok for still close ups, but not what I was looking for.
It takes 3 photos and combines them. Very detailed shots v a single photo.

Are you taking pictures with the highest mega pixel setting? Are you using the flash indoors? What are the lighting settings of the area like? ETC ETC.
