Talking Galaxy SIII - Mobile World Congress 2012

Well, the Barcelona 2012 Mobile World Congress is due to start 27 Feb 2012, or Feb 27 2012 if you're in the United States in America.

A lot of us are waiting for a first look at our next phone, the much speculated Galaxy S Triple Eye ([C]Doomed).

Will it really have a quad core processor, 3D screen and 32GB memory?

    37 days and counting...
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)
Last days of the SGS Classic, looking forward to my SGS Triple Eye Blue Pebble.

I've seen more rumours for dual core, than I have for quad core

Although that was last year so with the HTC Edge and the LG X3 both sporting quad cores, you've gotta hope that Sammy planned all along to go quad core, or have upped it to quad core to stay in the same league - it would be a backwards step if their top end phone for this year came out with dual core, when others are releasing quad cores.

I think slightly bigger screen and better camera are a given, but would love to see:-

Quad Core / Splash or water resistant (life proof) / dedicated camera button / FM transmitter.

Realistically hoping for the Quad Core and splash proof

and hopefully won't need to root to use my PS3 sixaxxis controller

Quad core for sure, but no 3d. I certainly don't want 3d. Screen also has to be HD and hopefully a tad larger than the SGS II's current screen.

It wont matter how good it is if the official upgrade interface is the utter disaster area that is Kies. Will be ready for the upgrade from my s1 by then but will definately not be getting an s3 unless something amazing happens to the usability of Kies. Damn shame, because the taster of the phone makes me drool !

Quad cores are already cropping up and with the second quad core phone to be released in February I cannot see Samsung releasing a dual core for the SGSIII.

Not fussed about Kies at all and will not let that influence my decision, never needed the software before no reason to start now.

Samsung appear to be pulling an Apple here and not releasing any info.

Most rumours so far seem to be quad core Oxynoxy processor (something like that) with 50% more graphics performance but 30% less battery use, 12MP camera, 4.5" screen, 2GB RAM, 32GB memory, NFC & no physical buttons as ICS doesn't need them!

Plus there's that video showing an unknown mobile device at around the 7 minute mark.

Hi Tufftoad, its good for you that you're savvy enough to sort your phone. What about the other poor sods, who like me,nievely went and bought a galaxy s only to find out the only real way to manage it was to root, and study forums, and download, and reset, and download somemore, then debug..... etc. Its not fair on consumers who aren't geeks like us. Just because I love half- bricking then rescuing my phone doesnt mean the consumer should have to risk it just to get a properly working update. Some people do need Kies, and they need it to work properly. To date, samsung fails consumers with their crap software.

I bought the SGSI with no idea about rooting or flashing firmware, never done anything with a phone before the SGS1...hell I didn't even know you needed to update software! Only reason I bought it was for the display, internal storage and no need for media/software syncing like iTunes.

If the rest of the world is not tech savvy then it's not my fault and if you want a phone that doesn't require any thought then buy an old Nokia or get an iPhone?

I'm on this forum to help people who want their Samsung device a little better, just as people did for me when I needed a little direction.

You should take a positive out of this situation and when you come to choose your next phone you will know which questions to ask.

    edit:

Although Samsung fail their customers with their crap software they deliver with hardware. Other than Apple I do not know of any other phone manufacturer that sells their phones based on supported software for the phone. Half the people I speak to don't even realise they can update the phone's software.
