Samsung galaxy s2 MASSIVE battery problem !!!

I own a samsung galaxy s2 which ive had for about 2 weeks ! Love the phone to bits but i am having real battery issues ! ive got the brighness down and the phone on standby with no background data running or anything and the charge will last only about 5 hours ! I dont understand how this is happeneing ! I changed to this from an htc desire and that gave me a full day at least and this is so frustraing as i am in love with this phone ! It runs the standard 2.3.3 and im considering selling it if the battery doesnt improve ! I bought an increased 1900mAh battery compared to samsungs 1600 and this gives me just over 6.5 hours life !! Please Help !!

what do you use your phone for ?? lots of movie/internet/game plying will eat away at the battery life

The latest official firmware is 2.3.6 which has much better battery life than your 2.3.3. You need to upgrade to the latest firmware and try that at least. Also, as above, the screen takes most battery so if you have the screen on all the time it will drain the battery fast....

Make sure your GPS and wireless are off when not needed. Updating the phone will make a big difference.
