Caller ID!

Just recently got an SGS2 and my contacts in my phone are comming up as "Unknown" when i recieve phone calls...please help!

Add the contacts to your phone rather then your sim?

They are..there is only a phone option

Out of ideas. If the number of the person who is calling you is stored on the phone then the phone should pick this up. The only time a number has not come with the name is when my phone is lagging a little, then a couple of seconds later during the call the name appears.

Could be a glitch with the numbers if they are entered with +44 at the beginning, or vice versa. This will be a tricky one to solve, could you describe the exact state of a contact that isn't working and we can go from there.

Also, I'd recommend putting your contacts on your Google account, then you won't lose them when something bad happens.

just wondering if this has been sorted yet my SGS2 has same issue IE contacts are not coming up when calling or receiving (SMS ok) eg unknown caller is default even tho caller ID set to "show my ID"

at last! my unknown caller ID are due to provider (TPG) resetting caller ID to off in my network settings. And I only had to call them 3 x to find this out. Remarkable !

I am facing this problem since 10 days now. My phone is always in power ONmode but it says switched off when someone tries to call me. But the moment I make a outgoing call, I am able to receive the call until next time when problem starts. I raised a complain to vodafone and they now say they have done everything from their end and they suspect some problem with my hand phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) which I bought 3 months back.

Do anyone of you have faced a problem like this before and if ys, how did you get this rectified? Your help will be very much appreciated.

I would do a factory reset and run without any additional apps then see if you still get the problem....
