Hi Keith,
Did you ever solve this?
I've got a problem in that emails won't get sent. I get the error message 'Sending failed Null' and understand from reading another forum that I need to delete and reinstall my (non GMAIL) account (without WiFi connected). The troble is that, like you, it seems to be defined as the Samsung Account and won't let me delete it. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset and was hoping you'd found a way round it.

Hi THC104
Meant to reply yesterday.
Just before christmas i reformatted my laptop to factory settings and reinstalled the main things then installed Kies and get the same thing with the update. Tried again on my phone through the air and no update.
As with you i don't want a factory reset as i have my phone exactly the way i want it.
Still cannot delete the Samsung account, not sure what to do.
Keith
Hi Keith, going with the information you have provided your csc code suggests that you phone is not branded to orange. It's on the generic UK release which is currently at 2.3.4, while the orange branded version is 2.3.5. it's csc has ora where yours has xeu The Samsung account doesn't seem to sync anything, hence not being able to select it to sync.
Hi Chrisdhay.
That might explain it but how do i know that it is not branded. It does not come up with Orange when turned on just the little annimation, then goes to my home screen. There was no Bundled Software (like the orange wednesday/Your Orrange Account etc) on it i had to download that from the martketplace. that would suggest it is not branded. the other way would be to put another SIM in from a different provider but looks unbranded.
Is there a way to upgrade the unbranded or just wait till either the over the air or Kies tells me?
Thanks for the info Chrisdhay.
Keith
Hi Keith,
As you mentioned the best way to check whether the phone is sim free is to try a different sim card. The firmware is definitely unbranded as the branded orange firmware comes with the orange start-up animation and apps as you have already mentioned but it also gives you the choice to choose oranges own launcher. Unless you want to root the phone or are having problems its probably best just to wait as ICS is supposed to be launched Q1 this year.
Chris.
Does anyone know why attempting to delete my Samsung account removed most of my calendar entries??
