Angry Phone cannot make or receive calls and texts!! Please help!

Hi, I'm having a problem with my Galaxy S I9000, it stops receiving calls, they go straight to voice mail and when I try to call, it hangs up on its own! The same thing with texts..until I turn the phone off and then on or turn flight mode on and then off ..then I could make calls..It's not a network problem because I tried my sim card in an other phone for two days and it's fine and the signal is great where I live..I'm sure the problem is in the phone because I've been having this problem for two weeks...My phone is not rooted and I didn't update anything...please help!

Install a custom rom and see if that resolves the issue. Or reinstall the latest official samsung firmware via ODIN procedure.
