Samsung Mail - emails disappearing after reading

I have found another anomoly with this whole process that suggests to me there is a flaw in the coding of the Galaxy email application.

If I delete the emails from the Galaxy Inbox and leave them in the Galaxy Trash folder, after downloading the emails to Thunderbird on my laptop, the emails remain in the Galaxy Trash folder (whereas if I had left them in the Galaxy Inbox they would have simply disappeared.

I can't find a setting on the Galaxy that says how long messages should stay in the Trash folder.

It is because of using pop3 on Android. Use imap settings instead
pop3 which will solve the email disappearing issue.

Ok, this one sounds like it can be resolved by setting Thunderbird to leave on the server. I have my Outlook (Pop3 email account) set to leave a copy on the server for 30 days and on the S2, incoming mail is set to never delete email from the server, The end result, it keeps everything in Outlook, 30 days worth on the droid and 30 days on the server.

I had the same problem and deleted the account on the S2 then recreated it using the manual mode, then setting the delete email from server" to "Never". I did not need to set the server to keep emails as this can cause double download issues in Outlook. I have said elsewhere on the forum that concurrent access to the account with both machines may be blocked by the POP server but it all works OK . . . for me!
