Urgent!!! Phone wont get past bootscreen - CM9

Hey guys, after my lagfix problem last time with all my apps disappearing i just decided to do a cwm backup and install a custom rom - namely cm9 ice cream sandwich. i got it at build 6 and followed all the instructions and it worked fine. Updated to build 7 a few days later. today i just installed build 8. This is what i did:

    1) made a back-up using cwm5
    2) installed build8.zip from internal sd using cwm5
    3) installed gapps5.1.zip
    4) installed faceunlock5.zip
    5) installed audiofix.zip for dealing with build 8 bug.

All installed successfully so i went back to the main menu and clicked reboot now. However, when i did this the phone restarted and hasn't got past the initial galaxy s boot-up screen - it's been like that for 10 minutes now!

Yanked the battery out and tried to reboot into recovery - didn't work. However, download mode does work!

I followed all the instructions!! What do I do?? PLEASE HELP!

By the way, would have posted this in the xda forums, but it says i'm not allowed to post in the developer section because i've made less than 10 posts!! Anybody.. please help!!

I'm going to try and flash back to a stock rom (JVT) using odin1.3 v7. I know I have a custom rom sort of installed so i can't do a factory reset/wipe cache or clear data before i attempt this as I can't access recovery mode Anybody advise AGAINST doing this!!!? Please help!

Managed to flash back to JVT - for all it's imperfections, you really appreciate a fully functional gingerbread rom

Try re-downloading the zips and retry, only try one at a time to

Maybe a good idea to start clean by:

    Factory Reset.
    Clear Cache.
Format /system (Mount options I think)
Clear Dalvik Cache (Under Advance or something).

I think this is how I solved some of my problems on CM Rom.
