Real newbie needs lots of help re: making my phone North American

Hello:

Bought phone from amazon.ca but came with funny plug (and adapter) and was Spanish (Yoigo).

Read on forums that I need to install North American firmware.

Kies does not work - maybe because of the Spanish firmware, I don't know.

Guess I need to use Odin, right?

Where can I get the proper software for my phone and where can I find a good tutorial so that I do not ruin my phone?

First you better make sure the phone you have got is going to be compatible with your network, as North America likes to be different

If you have the real SGS EyeEye (2/II) I9100 (International version) make your way over to www.sammobile.com You'll need to sign up, but you'll get the firmware you need and instructions on how to flash

Also I'm sure there are some how too's here

If you have a different SGS EyeEye version take a look at xda developers, or take a look there anyway.
