Deleting unwanted groups from your contacts

I see that you can add groups to your contacts, how do you delete unwanted ones?

Doesn't work for me either; doing that only gives me the option to send text, send email or edit (and edit doesn't give me the option to delete).

Pressing the key to the left of the home key gives me the bin to delete groups although it doesn't list all of them

I've just added my gmail onto my phone and all those contacts have flooded my normal phone contacts, do either of you know how I can remove them?

I use my Google address book for all my contacts, so I have access to them from any synced device. Or in fact any computer connected to the internet, anywhere. I never store contacts on the phone itself.

You can hide contacts from various places by opening your contacts app, then Menu > More > Display Options and editing the options in under the "Choose contacts to display" heading.

But nowadays you should really be using your Google contacts list to hold everything. I mean apart from anything else, if you lost your phone, you'd lose all your contacts with it. It makes sense.
