    MP3's

Hi all. I am having a problem transfering MP3's to my phone. The songs I transfered were 320 kbps (good quality), but not long after I had transfered them to my phone, they had changed to just 144 kbps. Any idea why this is? Thanks.

Hi Doomed. I connected my phone to kies, then clicked 'view in explorer' (to view the files on my memory card), I then went to my music folder on my computer, and just dragged each song and placed them into my memory card folder.

They were showing as 320 kbps when I first transfered them, but after they had been on my phone for a short while, they had mysteriously changed to just 144 kbps. They sounded great when I first transfered them, but now they sound pretty awful.

So no one has a clue what is happening? Try it yourselves. Transfer a 320 kbps song from your computer to your phone, then unplug your phone and long press the song for the details, the chances are, it will have automatically been converted to a much lower quality by your phone. The 320 kbps songs were only between 9MB and 11MB, so they weren't big, and there was plenty of memory on my phone, so I don't see why the phone would automatically down grade them. There must be a way around this?

The problem you're having is using Kies. Just connect your device without Kies running and just drag and drop the mp3s on to the sd card using windows file explorer.

I would try, but I don't think I have any songs @320 kbps.

I was going to say don't use kies but it seems they worked ok for a while.
