If i used the 12v car charger ive used for my htc desire would it be safe to use with the GS2, i tried 1 earlier and it worked but dont want to use it for longer period if it would damage the battery.

I think its all been standardized on most newish phones now. It's great when you for get your charger and don't need to look for people with the same phone

I'm pretty sure the current drawn on a car charger is set in the kernel so it shouldn't be able to do harm. Could be mistaken though.
mine seems to not charge with the cigarette lighter charger...left it for 1 hour or more and it shut down itself... HELP!!
Were you using gps? Some car chargers dont supply enough juice to stop the phone from continuing to drain if using gps.
