    Found New Hardware

I have the Samsung Kies installed however when trying to connect phone to pc i get this message,

Windows needs to install driver software for your CDC Serial

"Locate and install driver software (recommended)

    Ask Me Again Later

Don't Show This Message For This Device Again"

I have tried the first option but I get this message,

Insert the disc that came with the SDC Serial

I can see my GT-I9100 on my pc in the portable files and even access the folders but when I open the files, nothing has carried over i cant transfer anything over to my pc.

any suggestions to help me out with this would be much appreciated?

I found this post on another forum searching Google:

I was having this problem too. Trying to tether a Galaxy S2 to a Vista PC, and getting the CDC Serial Driver message.
I solved it by downloading the Samsung Kies software from the Samsung site and installing it. The install seems to include the required device drivers that Windows needs.
Once Kies was installed, I tethered again and the phone set itself up as a wireless network connection.
The current link to the Kies download is:
    http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co...1082_152_4.exe
... although this link may not work in future if Kies is updated.
Also point of note: prior to installing Kies and tethering, I switched off fast dormancy by entering *#9900#* on the dialler keypad ... I don;t know whether this is a factor in getting the phone tethered and working successfully with the PC, so if you're not getting a stable connection with just the Kies install, perhaps try disabling fast dormancy as well?

Kies is needed for pretty much anything where you need to connect the phone to a laptop/PC, shame it's a shocking piece of software

Not really, other software can do what Kies does.
