Well, I tried it last night, but now back on JM2 again. Watch a lot of videos on the phone & on JP3 the colors are totally 'washed out'. No matter how I altered the settings I could not get a decent pic ( on JM2 they look great ). But looking at the extra features, the final (bug free, we hope) version should be very good.
At the rate they are releasing the dev ROMs, we should have a pretty stable 2.2 by the end of next week. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The rate of new firmwares will slow down. I've been reading some Russian forums (4pda.ru, great forum, but you must understand Russian), and the guy that actually posted JP2 and JP3 (samsung-firmwares took his firmwares, they even admitted it on their site) said that he wouldn't be able to steal any more firmwares - he got caught doing this by Samsung, and they closed the hole.. So, be patient

Translation - Lol.. This is the end of "my" firmwares. The Koreans got angry at someone stealing their firmwares and decided to give a few slaps here and there and put up the shutters (guess so it's translated). And all is because of JP. So we interrupt our translation and see what happens next. I think that we should forget about the test firmwares for half a year and use custom ROMs. And let's not forget about samsung-firmwares.com...
In latter posts he says that he will actually receive the firmwares, but he'll be unable to post them.

and here i thought samsung was being cool like google and releasing their beta froyo on purpose for bug testing. wish we would have made it to JP4, most of the bugs went away in JP3

Well i found the JP3 over the last couple of days stable, but very slugish so for the time being going back to JM2. I must admit the delation of emails under JP3 is massive where deleting 10 emails would take 5 mins to do it is done istantly with JP3.

I am thinking about purchasing the galaxy s that comes with android 2.1 wich doesnt support voice dialing over bluetooth, unlike the 2.2 version.
Nice to know Samsung releases this kind of updates ( HTC HD2 witn wm 6.5 wont be upgreadable tp windows phone 7 and the Maemo on the Nokia N900 wont
get an upgrade to the new Meego)
But would the galaxy also be upgradeable to the 3.0 version?

That remains to be seen, specs wise i think it is powerful enough to handle it but depends on how popular the phone and the suppor Samsung Provides.
