Question What case gives the best grip and protection to the samsung galaxy s2 phone?

Hi, I am looking for a case to use with my phone. I have stiff hands and am a bit of a butterfingers. I would like the case to add grip to the phone and also protection, should I slip! Preferably without adding to much weight to the handset. Suggestions please.

    Thanks.

I've had a Casemate Tough on my SGS almost from new. It's very well made, is grippy and protects the camera/screen from scratches to a certain extent
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

Hi, thanks for replying. How much weight does it add and have you noticed any problems with the phone overheating while in the case? I have heard that 'casemate tough' is quite bulky.

My case weighs 33g, 1.16 ounces. No problems overheating. It makes the phone bulkier but not as much as some cases I've seen and now the phone feels too slippery and thin without it.

That's for the SGS, not SGS2. The SGS2 may give different results re heating. But when I get my SGS3 a Casemate Tough will be at the top of my accessories list.

I'm looking for a good tough case as well. I was going to get a case mate tough but it apparantly has echo issues. Reading on Amazon.co.uk a lot of reviews say it makes phone calls echoy to the perosn on the other end. Anyone had this Issue???

I really want to get a case for this phone but every case i find seem to have some downfalls. Case-mates seem good in general but perhaps the otterbox or a leather flip reinforced case would be better. Anyone have experience of these?

    Thanks

    Hi Benjit,

I just brought a cheapo flip case in the end as I realized I wanted something that covered the whole phone. There is a cradle inside all the cases that clip and hold the phone in place. I haven't dropped my phone yet and I doubt I ever will because when it's open there's always the lid to hang onto. I can't remember the make of the case I got as I specifically wanted a white one. Don't spend a lot of money on a really expensive, reinforced flip case unless your the type of person that does extreme sports or similar cos you just won't need it. Just make sure you get one that has a cradle and that the phone can be charged without removing it from the case.

The only disadvantage I have found, and it doesn't bother me. Fingerprints can be seen when the phone is off but then I suppose a screen protector and a scrap of cloth would fix that. If you want reviews go to amazon.co.uk and search for galaxy s2 flip case and search by customer score. Have a look on froogle before you buy though as you can probably get it cheaper elsewhere with a bit of research. Happy hunting.

Having looked into this, the problem seems to be with the noise cancellation feature on the eye eye.

During a call, this can be turned off. I've turned it off on Mrs stonkr's eye eye although she has never reported any problems.

I took my Galaxy SII (SGH-i777) out of my case and put it on my digital baking scale. It read the phone as 4 1/4 oz. Then I put the phone back inside my Ballistic SG Black/Blue Rugged Case and re-weighed it. Inside the case it weighed 6 1/4oz.

Yes, it is thicker inside the case and doesn't quickly slide/drop into pants pockets, but I think that's the point. To not let it quickly slide so that it picks up enough speed to cause damage if it gets hit on the edges.

    Just adding my $0.84
