Latest Firmware version?

Hi all.

Wet behind the ears newbie here. Carried out a (painful) Kies firmware update last night and all seemed to go OK but I cannot notice a single change on my phone!

I am sure the version numbers displayed in 'about' have changed but there appears to be no changes in design, function or speed at all!

My phone states I am on Android 2.3.4 and build XWKI4. Are these the latest full released versions? Should I be seeing some changes? Have I screwed it all up!!

Look up the change log on the internet. Not all updates are visual or noticeable, the SGSII was released with buggy firwmare and there were 2 updates within a week to fix this.

Hi, I did look up the changelog and that's what worries me - it states at least 20 visual / functional changes that I don't have. That's why I put the question on here as there seems to be all sorts of different report / logs from different people which again differs depending on the country you are in!

Kies says I am up to date but I am not getting any of the features so just wanted someone in the know to advise what is the latest UK firmware/software version.

I wouldn't be worried about it.

dial *#1234# and report back exactly what you see. Also if you post the change log you saw too.

we are now on 2.3.5

KJ2 is the latest - see intratchs thread on xda or baron's thread on this forum

If you want the actual latest firmware, avoid kies...it only gives updates that are officialy released, you can get unofficial via the above method

Ah! The date would suggest it is still in the build from when I got it?

Can't seem to find the link to the changelog now as I did it from home but for instance a feature was the home screen scrolling is continuos loop rather then left to right and smaller notifications in the notification bar.

There arent any changelogs for sgsii rom releases, we have to figure out as we go along...

No worries.

On www.SamMobile.com there is a new KI4 released later on in September which 2.3.5. You are still on 2.3.4.

If you want more recent firmware visit the site I went to and you can download the firmware and flash it manually using Odin.
