Just got myself a Galaxy S after switching to a Milestone. I might pay the £15 and get the simlock code to remove running on T-Mobile Software.

One thing I gotta say this is lightest phone I have ever use.

Not sure whether to root yet.

Looking forward to learning from everyone.

If you're going to flash firmwares often, I can recommend rooting so you can use Titanium Backup.

Thanks Luckys I want to root it but it is simlock I might wait until after 2.2 my provider will unlock the device but at a cost and it takes one month before I get the code.

if you are delayed in providing the codes by your service provider then you can contact other online providers like Superunlockcodes.com to get your phone unlocked.

Alternatively the Galaxy S can be unlocked via an app in the Market (Google Play)
Phone has to be rooted first.
