Luckily i managed to get into cwm recovery mode & very lucky had nandroid backup which was restored !!!!

For future reference i just want to know
    1. what is "wipe data/factory reset" ?? (does that wipe all apps, data etc)
    2. what is "wipe cache" ?? (is this not the same as point 1 wipe data)
    3. what is "wipe dalvik cache" ?? (is not the same as point 2)

so next time i know what does what & when needed (i did all 3 three last night panicing when phone stuck in reboot)

    # does anyone know what are update.zip & recoveryupdate.zip files are - i got them when trying to back my rom via rom manager (did not backup) "signature verification falied"
so falshed them via cwm recovery- the same "signature verification failed" # ????? ANY HELP?ADVICE

I answered this in your PM

They are different. The factory reset may clear the other two, but this depends on your device and firmware/ROM. So it's best to clear them all

Cache - Stores data so can be accessed faster.
Dalvik cache - Stores Java based date so can be accessed faster (Closed apps using up memory ready to be opened, that look to be open)
Posting here to so anybody can tell me how wrong I am

I take it your current recovery mode is 3e. If so you require 2e.

If your rooted and have ROM manager, there should be an option inside to install CWM.

Well, based on the world of pc (actually I don't have glue how Android works),I think when wiping data, you clear your sd and the file info of it. When wiping cache you delete the temporary data on the RAM. And the Dalvik cache goes even deeper in the system...

I might be totally wrong on this.

Sorry about not reading pm.. Anyway thanks for clearing that up now I understand better about those functions..
I already have cwm installed but ROM manager never recognizes my can and always signature verification failed..
Do you reckon I should delete can app & install can via rom manager (IM just guessing on the lines of different versions)??
