    Update has broke my phone

Ever since I updated my Samsung S2 the other day my S2 has been turning itself off and sometimes the power button and home button become unresponsive. When it turns itself off the actual phone feels warm, like my iPhone used to when it was using some power draining apps. I have the power save mode and etc so it uses less power but it still turns itself off after a while. Is there anyway to roll back the firmware or is the problem something else?

Yesteday I tried to access the WiFi settings in the menu and the screen went black for about 30 seconds and then said an error occurred and to force close the wifi settings and sometimes the screen freezes a bit.

Mine doesn't even restart, I use the phone for my alarm aswell, turns out this morning it didn't go off because the phone was off again. Just now I go into my YouTube app and it freezes the phone when backing out back to home screen :/

Yours sounds a lot worse than mine,i just get the odd reboot, try a factory reset as its sounds too un-usable as it is.

Factory reset removes anything you have put on the phone, just leaves the os and preinstalled apps

A lot of problem like this can be sorted out by doing a data wipe/factory reset from recovery mode. Volume up + Home key + Power key. When you have done any firmware update it's always a good idea to do a wipe data/factory reset, it clears out anything left behind from the previous OS version.

so a factory reset does not set the firmware/android version back to the factory version?

In a way it does, it sets it back to how the firmware should be.

In the way your thinking no. Ie: You have a PC with XP on, You upgrade it to Win7. Now the only way to get XP back is to re-install it. This is the same with firmware

So a factory reset is the best thing to do first. If not a re-flash may need to be done.

I have done the reset however the firmware that is on now is the same as the one I updated to and the WiFI says "Error" so I cant turn it on. So far no freezing I will see what happens. I did the wlan test and it says "Driver loading unsuccessful" :S
