The choice should be in the options on the Camera.

Open Camera > Click the cog icon > Press the Tab with the spanner > Storage > Select Memory Card instead of Phone.

    Thanks for your reply.

When I press the cog, I get a drop down menu with the following Edit Shortcuts, Flash, Recording mode, Exposure Value, Timer, Effects. I can copy and paste in Kies but that's the only way I can find to use the card.

I don't have access to an SGSII right now so can't check the options.

Only have an SGSI so menus are slightly different. Will post back in ten minutes with an answer.

Edit: I checked out a mate's SGSII and the menus on the camera are completely different...couldn't see an option to to allow you to save to external SD.

If I come across a solution I will post.

Just rang the help line and the guy said that it saves to the SD card automatically. Mine doesn't.

I think he meant the internal SD, even on the SGSI the photos are saved by default to there.

Can't see a reason not to have the option to do so.

On my S2, you press the Cog icon when the Camera is open, and scroll down to the bottom. Press Storage and you can choose phone or SD card. If you haven't got that, maybe there's something wrong with your camera software. If you open Samsung Apps in the app drawer, choose Category at the top, then Utilities, you'll find an update to the camera software. Try installing that and trying again.

Good stuff, would've been poor if it had been removed. If you don't have the option then it could be the firmware, try using Samsung Kies to update the phone's software.
