Angry Synchronize folders between PC and phone?

So far I've been using MS SyncToy 2.1 to synchronize folder contents between my PC and my SE X10. I just go the SGS II and for some reason when I try to sync the required folders, I can't choose any of the folders under either "card" or "phone". They are there, but show as not selectable.... The same with Cobian.

Anyone had the same problem with accessing folders through backup, sync applications from the PC? What to do?

What are you syncing? (don't say folders)

Are you using Samsung Kies or the software for your SonyErricson?

I am syncing (trying to... on the Samsung) some work related folders containing all kinds of documents, files, basically using the sd card as a backup for my stuff at work. I am using Kies. I am not aware of Kies having any of that functionality I need - i.e. real synchronization of folder contents, other than music, pics and video.

I think this is happening because under Windows the storage of the Galaxy is not recognized as separate external hard drives but the device itself is recognized as one. When I plug it in the USB I get an option to browse through the GT-I9100 as an external storage, and then I get to choose either card or phone. So, for example, when I open my camera (DCIM) folder on the phone "partition" I don't get to see previews of the images, just a list view with default thumbnails. Anyone know a workaround that, so the card and the internal phone memory are displayed as normal external storage items, and not under one - the GT-I9100, in windows explorer?
