I9100 firmware update problem to 2.3.4 or 2.3.5 please help!!

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum and android too. Please be patient and help me to get out of the issue.

I'm in Bangladesh & bought my precious SGS2 I9100 from Samsung shop with warranty. Here we dont have any Carrier issue or jailbreaking or other problems.

My SGS2 Phone details are given below:

    PDA: I9100XWKF3
    PHONE: I9100DDKE4
    CSC: I9100ODDKF3
Build Info: Thu Jun 9 18:16:44 KST 2011

    Android version 2.3.3
    Baseband version I9100DDKE4
    Kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555 root@DELL101 #2
    Build number GINGERBREAD.XWKF3

Now, i know there are so many firmware updates after my version. When i connect the phone to kies it says "this version of the device cannot be updated". I think i understand, its because of the region. but i'm with the same region of India and i saw on net India got new firmware updates via kies, but i'm stuck with my default one.

So please tell me what should i do to update to 2.3.4 or 2.3.5. I saw so many rooting and upgrading guides online. Can i choose from them and which firmware I'm confuse. And will it void my warranty if i update using ODIN (i read already that upgrading firmware doesn't require rooting). I'm willing to take the risk but please can you give the link for my stock firmware so that i can revert the OS if i messed up?

All the helps will be appreciated.

thanks and sorry for such a long post

    Sayem.

KI3 or KI8 is the 2.3.5 firmware, use the search function on this forum, download and flash through Odin.

Yes you will lose your warrany if you root, no you wont if you dont.

your current version has nothing to do with anything. Its not relative to finding a new version

    So i will repeat:
KI3 or KI8 is the 2.3.5 firmware, use the search function on this forum, download and flash through Odin.

Yes you will lose your warrany if you root, no you wont if you dont.

as a side note, you can go to XDA and download extra CSC packages for your region
