S2 USB Connection Problem

Kies Air still works but that has limited functionality compared to the USB connection.

It's effectively a different program, Kies Air is mainly for transferring media wirelessly where as Kies is the fully supported companion software.

I'm having the same problem, it just stopped working all of a sudden, I have tried many things without luck. Anyone having this issues? what could be a possible solution?

If it's stopped working all of a sudden then it's highly likely that it'll start working all of a sudden.

Can you achieve what you need to achieve in a different way? What are trying to do?

Try different USB ports or try a different cable?

Out of curiosity I tried it again whilst writing this msg. It was a struggle. I first forgot to close down all other apps on the S2. I have a Task Manager on my home screen to check that. I then turned off Power Saving and Screen blanking. I then start Keis and pop the S2 into the desk caddy making sure it is not locked. The PC saw the linked S2 within about ten secs and Keis a few seconds after.

It would help if you tell us whether you did and whether it works, please.

Hi, I am newbie to both Samsung phone and Android. I just got S2 and try to connect to my laptop. I downloaded driver and Kies and rebooted but still couldn't recognize the phone by the lap top (neither by USB or kies) . Just keep trying conecting.....

Hi,
I noticed about a week ago that the USB connection on my S2 no longer works. If I plug it into a PC (I've tried several xp & w7) it charges but the PC does not see it. It can't be seen in device manager and it doesn't appear like a drive like it did in the past. It also can't be seen by Kies so I can't transfer or backup files. I've tried the USB debug mode but that does nothing. Has anyone else had this issue or recommend something I can try to resolve it?

I am having the same problems, it was fine until two weeks ago, now suddenly my phone files are not recognised by anything

ON YOUR S2 OPEN THE DIALER AN TYPE IN....

MODEM
PDA

USB
MODEM
PDA

UNDER USB (if it already selected) to PDA Click MODEM then RESELECT (CLICK) PDA

ONLY repeat "ONLY" Change the USB SETTING

Then press Back. Now try connecting via USB............Should Work.....
