Google Service Framework trying to access the Internet

Hello everyone, I just bougth a SGS. With the "activate data network" option on, I find this Google service framework (com.google.process.gapps) running a service called "Google Messaging Service" that starts together with the activation of the data network. Now, this service somehow tries to access the Internet but doesn't succeed because I don't have enough credit for it (less than 1.50 €). The point is: how do I know exactly what this application is trying to do, and what can I do to stop it? I mean, to stop booting if necessary.. I can't find anywhere infos about this service!
    Thanks a lot in advance

You haven't got Googles backup sync selected in menu have you. Also do you have the Gmail set to auto sync.
