    New to android

    Hi how do i disconnect from the internet when im finished browsing so i dont use up all my data allowence? sorry if i sound stupid

    To completely shutdown the stock player hold the home button so you bring up the task manager window, click task manager then end 'Internet'.

    You could just download Dolphin HD (or similar web browser) from the market place, they usually have exit buttons, so saves going into task manager.

    Not sure but I think the poster is meaning complete disconnection with the screen off.

    If I am right, there are a couple me apps you could use. One is a widget to turn data on or off when you want to, there are a few apps for this. Another option is something like juice defender which I used to use which does it all automatically for you and periodically connects to check email etc. I no longer have wifi and use an app called green power which turns my data connection off with the screen off and back on with screen on.

    I use it to save battery rather than data allowance as I am totally unlimited but it could be useful for you too.

    hold down the power button to get the data conenction toggle and use the notification bar to toggle wifi? Otherwise as Hazi1964 use one of the apps.

    As others have said switch browsers or hold down the power button to turn data off, IDEALLY if you can, you might want to look into putting a Data package on your tariff just for peace of mind as android phones are pretty data orientated, almost every app on the phone uses data for something
