Hey yeah i did exactly the same as i saw on some guides but im a bit confused. because when ever i connect to kies it says "this version can not be updated" how do i fix this? I want my csc to be on europe csc so i get europe updates as soon as possible.

my details are:
PDA: I9100XWKI4
PHONE: I9100XXKH1
CSC: I9100OXXKI2

please tell me what should i do so that kies says "this is the latest firmware" please and thank you

If Kies says you have the latest version then you have the latest version for your phone, provided by your network in the country you reside.

If you want more up to date firmware on your phone then look at BarosanuXXL's first post, it contains the firmware, root files and guides.

True answer is yes, because kies is meant to do this where other ways are not official.

Real answer is no, because if anyone asks, you used kies (This is also believable because kies likes to bugger up a lot)

but the guide in the OP says i need pit, pda, phone, and csc files?? can someone please show me step by step?

Don't think they can. I wouldn't be so concerned with tracing what you've done on the phone. Samsung have so many phones to deal they won't spend a a lot of time figuring out why they have it at their service centre. They will just use Odin to flash new firmware like we do.

Not all firmwares require all 3 files. If the pit, phone and CSC are the same there's no point flashing it.

According to Samfirmware there is no pit file so it would just be the one file I think. You may want further confirmation by someone who actually has an SGSII
