What is the 'i' icon with three dots below it?

Today I noticed a lower case 'i' icon with three dots in the upper corner on my camera and gallery applications. It doesn't do anything; in fact, it's actually behind the 'switch view' button on the camera app, and in the gallery app it is behind where it says 'Gallery'.

I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is or how to get rid of it?

    Thanks!

Which corner is it in? And are you referring to the s1 or s2? Just had a look on mine and can't see what you describe but if you could provide more detail, I will have another look. I have the s1.

You can see in the camera app (pics 1 and 2) it shows up as if it were in 'landscape' view, whichever way the phone is held; in the gallery app it is in the opposite corner.

I`m using the Galaxy S II on Bell network.

    Hopefully someone can help!

Is it maybe some sort of help wizard? Never seen it on mine but I'm not on stock anymore to look.

Well, I'm on complete stock out of the box and I don't see it on mine either so can't help you I'm afraid.

Am assuming you have an sd card in the phone? The only thing I can think of would be if you didn't and it was something to do with that but that's just a shot in the dark I'm afraid.

Sorry I can't be of any further help.

Thanks for the reply! I do have an sd card in, and I can't click on it or select it (its essentially in the background) so it seems I'm back to square one.
It wasn't on my phone when I first got it, and I haven't modified it at all. I'm stumped!

I have having the same problem as you, except, I have noticed the letters actually change. A day ago I had a 'e...' but today I noticed it changed to an 'a...'

Not quite sure what it is, definitely wasnt there when I first got it either, only noticed it a few days ago. Using stock setup as well, though I have been downloading from third party sites.

Thought it may have been a trojan or malware at first, but AVG hasn't detected anything.

Usually three dots (. . .) appears when the application is linked to some other application. Try to find out the storage location of your camera or check which application link to your camera.
