What signal boosters?
How do I know if I am close to a 3 transmitter as opposed to a Vodafone transmitter?

Tried those signal boosters back when I was on O2 and an N80.
Boosted me up by 2 signal bars generally - can't comment on internet speed, but logically an improvement iin radio signal should speed up the data speed ?
Galaxy S2, and loving it ;-))
Hmmm, 99 pence is worth a go I suppose.

Well, I think it's worth trying then, nothing to lose at the price they go for. Lol. If it works, excellent, if not, back to rasing money for a better phone.
I see you have the s2 scooby, are you in the uk? If so, would you be kind enough to do a speed test and post your results, make sure it's tested on 3g and not wifi though. Lol.

Hi there Alison, i've just got my S2, i'm with orange, and with just under 1 bar signal, 3G+, i'm getting 1.26Mbps down, and 0.13Mbps up, with 153ms ping. We get bad signal inside house and i'm yet to use the signal booster once i've discovered how it works (It's an App built into my phone to piggyback signal using wifi to boost phone signal!). LOL
I'm just down the road in christchurch too, so we'll likely be using the same transmitters half the time! Using wi-fi this phone has recorded 12mbps down, but the connection was being used for other stuff too. Must try it when everyone else is asleep!
But so far, it looks like the signal is pretty good even at low level for 1Mbp plus access, at least with orange!![]()
From Canterbury with only one bar.....
Ping - 106ms

From Westwood Cross, Broadstairs....

I'm in a good signal area where I am so will be interesting to see my results.
Christchurch eh? Perhaps we could meet up for a coffee sometime? If you're married, engaged or got a girlfriend etc, rest assured, I have no ulterior motive whatsoever. I just like meeting like minded people, plus, if you customise etc, it would be handy to know somebody local who might be able to talk me through the rooting process if I decide to do that.
