wont connect to kies since upgrade

Hi,
upgraded to 2.3.3, now when I try to connect to kies, phone wont,and pc freezes, have to restart.
when I connect to device manager android MTP shown with exclamation mark , when I click it all freezes again, another restart required.
I assume it could be an MTP driver problem, but how do I solve it.
comments needed please.

To get drivers back on PC, Uninstall Kies, turn off pc and then re-install.

tried that twice, but not shown in `mobile devices` or anywhere else in device manager, so still cant connect, not even as `mass storage`.
