Microsoft Applies For Patents On Multi Touch/Multi Screen Gestures - Should Android Worry.

Some patents Microsoft applied for back in February of ’10 have recently gone public thanks to MicrosoftNews. So, why is Microsoft news on an Android site? Well, kids — if granted, these patents could pose a significant threat to our beloved Android OS and her OEM’s. Let’s take a look at Microsoft is trying to claim as “theirs” (brace yourself).

All this patent stuff is ridiculous, is it not?

How many things we use are similar, just look around your house.

A remote control, a computer keyboard, a drinking glass, a screwdriver, pencils, a book, speakers, a computer mouse, a hard disc drive, a battery, a Rubik's cube.

All of these are in front of me right now on my desk. I need to tidy my desk.

But all apart from the last item are available from many manufacturers and are all based around exactly the same design.

It's all getting too ridiculous.

Health & safety, laws, patents, rules & regulations. Too many. Far too many.

Apple is samsungs 2nd biggest customer,sony being the first..
Samsung is the largest electronic components manufacturer and world leader with semi conductor technology.
Apple are also suing microsoft,htc, nokia and some others but stop short at suing google(android) so its suggested they are going after the "users" of android insted.
Apple wrongly advertise they have the largest app store as android overtook them ages ago (wickipedia)
Samsung make the screens,processors,memory and other parts for the iphone.
Samsung are going to counter sue as they claim apple has stolen their wireless technology and associated stuff..
Samsung are in the top ten patent holders whereas apple dont even get close !

Apple, it seems, won’t be happy until it has systematically wiped Samsung’s Android efforts from the face of the earth. As part of the company’s continuing proxy war against Google yet another lawsuit has been filed, this time in Japan, with the intention to halt sales of the patent-infringing Galaxy S in the Land of the Rising Sun. The Cupertino-based smartphone maker also seeks to recover damages to the tune of ¥100 million (~$1.3 million).
The court room dramatics are already underway as of Wednesday, though neither company has commented on this most recent case of alleged intellectual property theft. The exact patents in question are not clear at this time.

Another lawsuit has been filed in an ongoing battle between smartphone Android manufacturers and Apple. This time the maker of the iPhone and iPad was on the receiving end, as HTC filed a complaint in a Delaware federal court claiming infringement upon several newly acquired patents. The previous owner of said patents? Google. Their origin? Motorola.
HTC acquired nine patents originating with Motorola Inc., Palm Inc., and Openwave Systems Inc. from Google on September 1st. Four patents first registered by Motorola are being cited in court documents relating to the Delaware case, while three patents first registered with Openwave and two first registered with Palm are part of an infringement complain filed with the US International Trade Commission in Washington.
