    USB connected screen

Hi, I have a new Galaxy S2 that I am totally delighted with (apart from the rather poor wifi signal reception, but that's not really a problem for me).

I've noticed a strange thing though (and I don't know if this matters at all because everything still seems to work). When I connect my Galaxy up to my PC, it used to look something like this:

(This is not my image, but it's the best I could find.) Basically, it used to say connected and show a picture of a USB connector.

Now, for some strange reason, my S2 does not do that. When I connect up with USB, I still see the normal home screen and can navigate around as normal, at the same time as using Kies or accessing the S2 from my PC.

Does anyone know why this is? Do other people's S2's behave like this, or do you all still see the USB image on screen?

I am running 2.3.4 XXKG2, but I loaded that a while ago and the USB think only seemed to change more recently.

Your in kies mode, u need to be in mass storage mode. The MTP Application screen on your phone is the application used to sync with Kies.

Menu > Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings....don't have an sgs2 but sgs1 has similar menu.

That's handy, I swear on the SGSI when USB debug is ticked and you connect to PC nothing happens.

Thanks for the helpful replies guys.

However, none of the suggestions cause the phone to display the image above.

USB works and I can transfer between my PC and the Galaxy using Windows Explorer. And I can use Kies just fine. But my phone never shows that USB picture above or says "connected" like it used to.

Thinking about it, I inserted a USB jig a few days ago (testing it out as much as anything), and perhaps my loss of USB screen coincides with that? Dunno.

Like I say, everything works, so it's no biggy. In fact it's rather better because now I can do things on the phone at the same time as transfering files etc, which is rather cool if not strange. For example I just installed a new app whilst in usb mode connected to my PC.

You haven't updated your firmware or changed any settings by any chance

I'm on the SGS and haven't seen that screen for over a year now

Not that I am aware of. I did the 2.3.4 upgrade a while back but this change has happened since then. I think it's got something to do with my inserting the jig. Maybe the jig resets one or two things more than expected?

How about settings. Instead of connecting to kies, you connect via mass storage mode
