Yeah, I saw a post from someone that seemed pretty credible that seemed to indicate they didn't see a big advantage to KG6. I think probably the problem is not enough feedback has accrued. I'm not too worried about losing Kies functionality at this point as it couldn't even complete a restore for me yesterday and siezed about half way through. Thanks for helping me make up my mind.

PS: What about the difference of opinion on the tutorials about checking the repartition box in Odin when you are flashing? Any opinion on that?

Think that's to do with the pit file. Some say it automatically does it overs say it need to be ticked. I use Heimdall and only need to place the pit file for it to re-partition.

If your going from 813.pit to 512.pit I'll tick it just in case.
