    CyanogenMod

I've heard of many people using this, so I thought I'd try it out myself, but it seems Galaxy S2 ain't supported? And if I got it right, only some versions of Galaxy S is supported?

    This kind of saddened me.

Any news on this? Or is there any reason why S2 ain't supported yet? I mean the phone has been out for some months now I believe?

@mag1270 - CM7 is available to put on your phone, at your own risk of course. It is still being developed. Dont know how much you know about CM7, its different to samsung custom roms. With those the people who work on them take the base samsung rom and then add stuff whereas the CM devs are taking pure android and putting it in the phone. Not helped by samsung who do not release a pile of code, so these guys are working their way through, and round, that.
My device is original SGS, had it about a year. CM7 has been in development for nearly all that time, recently hit RC1 status, still a few things not working because of the non-code release by sammy.

I mean there is no stable version yet. Galaxy S is under the list of devices, but there is no link to a stable version like with the other devices.

And on the forums, the subforum "Samsung Galaxy S i9000 Stable Mod" is empty. Only the "Experimental Mod" section has some activity going.

I don't want to run an experimental version.

And since there only is an experimental version for the Galaxy S, then what about the Galaxy S2? It has nothing as of now it seems. edit: scratch that, just found the Galaxy S2 section, with some nightly builds. I suppose development is happening, it's just slow.

As I said above, they are battling through because of the non-code release by sammy. It was only a few weeks ago that the SGS got RC1 (stable) status, who knows if it will ever reach RC2. These guys are doing their best. Remember, its not their job, its their own free time.

I tried the first nightly and it was ok. Ran fast but was missing hd recording and several other bits and pieces. Cyanogenmod will also likely never have the accelerated stock browser or other samsung features so if you like these things don't bother with it and use another custom rom (Litening is my favourite).

I guess I'll just stick with Lite'ning until something new happens. I just hope something will come up soon for the SGS2 as I like the idea behind CyanogenMod.
