    Galaxy S on UK Orange.

I'm interested on the SD Card mod & obviously rooting the device.
    possibly a new ROM etc

Just wondered if anyones had success on the above with a Galaxy S on Orange (UK)

    I'm using Windows 7 64bit.

Ok, i'm using Orange UK as well here and am on a 64x system... didn't have any issues Rooting my phone... haven't actually done anything else to it yet though lol

The easiest way I've found of Rooting the Galaxy is using the 'Update.zip' method... think the file is on this forum somewhere, stick it in your root memory, then access the phone's startup debug mode and it will automatically update the phone with the rooting access

    It will work just fine.
Windows 7 64-bits is no problem, I have flashed my firmware using W7 x64.

    Hi! all,
I need some help with Rooting my Galaxy S (on Orange). I've never done it before, and have checked on Youtube and it looks fairly easy. All the videos that I've seen seem to be from the USA and I'm not sure if the phones are the same. Mine is on Eclair which I think is 2.1. I can't get it to link to Samsung Keis , it just keeps saying "Connecting Device" and does nothing. I can get into my phone if I treat it as an external device through Internet Explorer though, so at least I can get into the internal and external cards. I've been trying to download GPSFix but it keeps giving me a message saying that my phone needs to be Rooted. As you've probably gathered, my GPS on Navigation just keeps searching and does nothing irrespective of the weather, so I know it's not atmospherics that are causing the problem.
I really need to talk to someone that has done it in the UK, as I've heard that Rooting can kill your phone.
You can contact me on plmadr@sky.com.
    Hope someone can help.

    Hi! again all,
I've now managed to fix the GPS problem on my Galaxy S, which incidentally was the connection inside the back of the phone and not a software problem.
I've now also rooted my phone. So where do I go from here. As yet I don't really understand all this flashing and ROMs lingo, although I'm sure it's something to do with upgrading my software.
So where would you guys recommend I go from here?
