Andriod 2.3.4 through Kies.....Help.

Has anybody else had stability issues. My SGS appears to restart itself every so often now and it keeps scanning the media and saying my SD has been removed. I was thinking of going back a step or two (maybe 2.2.2, as this has been the smoothest running version so far for me), but i'm getting a bit fed up of constantly having to reapply my apps etc. I tried to root my phone via one of the step by step guides on here but to no success. Sorry if i'm being a pain, but as stated earlier i'm quite new to this and do want to learn.

Have you considered moving to a custom firmware ?

I'm on Darky's v10.2 at the moment which is based on 2.3.4 and it's the best firmware I've had on the phone so far

I desided to take the plunge and follow some of your posts and............I now also have Darky v10.2 which has sorted out the restarting issue and appears to make the phone slightly fast. Not sure if I agree with the battery life being better, but it does appear slicker.

I then went for an option to change the theme. Again Goots, I followed one what you had suggested which looked very nice and I was happy with untill I restarted my phone. From there it just constantly looped upto the part where it says darkys rom.

I reflashed my phone and it is now working back on the 10.2's theme.

Any suggestions????

P.S. I'm going to follow you on twitter as well (my username is cwinskill) and I may on google+, although i don't really like that as much.

I think you had the problem because the theme is for JVH firmware, and Darky's v10.2 is based on JVQ.

Ahhhh. That would make sense.

Do you know of any good themes for the JVQ firmware. I really liked the idea of being able to change the lock screen etc. It looked nice as well.

There are a few ideas IN THIS THREAD but make sure they are compatible with JVQ.

Failing that, you could always pimp up the look of the ROM by using a different Launcher. Personally, I use LAUNCHER PRO, but there are some other cool ones, GO LAUNCHER being a very popular one. Stick one of those on with a nice wallpaper and you'll have a phone that looks great and works great

somebody help me!! i just bought my phone at last last weeks...i go ask for repair about 2 week ago...first i face the problem with my phone galaxy s2 is when it black screen i cant open it...it keep shuts off when black screen....what problem with that? i just bought it haven used half day become like this already!!

It sounds like a hardware fault or possibly corrupt firmware. If it's an S2 then it will still be under the manufacturers warranty and they will exchange it for a new one, or repair it at no cost to you.

2.3.4 Is out on kies I have it on my phone and its Official download no flash. The phone runs really well and much faster but there is no Google chat on the phone.
