I am located in Hong Kong and use the S2 mainly as a MP3 player when I am travelling to and from work. The majority of my music is saved on wav lossless. Problems that I am encountering are loud clicks and pops every 5 minutes or so. Also drains the battery fast and phone really heats up to an unbearable level, literally painful to answer a call.

I have tried many apps that is able to play wav lossless such as Songbird, 3cubed, Poweramp with the same consequences. Currently music player of choice is the 3cubed.

Associated app in playing music is the Equalizer and I use Westone 4 IEMs which are notorioisly less efficient than most earphones. I need the volume on two clicks from maximum. The sound is very good and comparable if not better than most smart phones.

I was told that the processors are working too hard loading up the huge music files into the ram to play and thus utilizing the battery heavily. I find this hard to believe as I have no such problems on my Motorola Xoom wifi which uses the Tegra dual core and if just used for playing music can last 3days.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated besides advising me to save music files on mp3 best quality.

Thanks all, great forum for S2 phones.
