Try uninstalling via Settings > Applications > Manage applications.

I'm using Go Launcher, where I can just hold down the app (In the app draw), which will bring up little X, which I can click on to uninstall.

Do you have Root, if so try Titanium Backup and uninstall it via that

Have you restarted your phone since removing the app?

You'll need a root file explorer for this:

Open up the Root file explorer: /system > app > find the app you want to remove and delete > restart your phone

Have you changed the permissions from read only (R/O) to Read Write (R/W)

On Root Explorer it's shown at the top: Mounted as r/o, then I click it to get: Mounted as r/w
