SMSC update error

Hi All,

I just bought the Galaxy S2 yesterday and am a total newbie to android phones. Coming from a Nokia world I am getting quite confused on some of the phone functions. I am not able to forward text messages and when I searched on the internet I came to know that I will need to set the SMSC on the phone. I tried doing it a couple of times by going to the Phone information via *#*#4636#*#* but every time I get an "update error".

Can someone please help me?

Ok I set the Message Centre on the phone by going to the message settings and it stays set but when I go to the Phone Information and refresh the SMSC, it gives me an incorrect number. The number that I set in the message settings is +919822078000 but in the SMSC it shows as 079119892270080 and when I try to update it, it gives the "update error". The reason I started investigating all this is that I am not getting the forward message option for text messages!

Is this a problem with the Phone or am I doing something wrong here? Please help!

Sorry All, found out the way to forward a text message. Tap on the message to open it and then press on it for 2 seconds to get further menu options which have Forward too! Feel so dumb
