Thumbs down GSII wiill not start correctly "Sorry could not start app"... and freeze

I have a three week old GSII bought in Barcelona and now in Italy it froze when restarting by showing the following:

1- starts normally and goes on to charging applications

2- start showing messages saying "Sorry! the application TWLauncher has stopped unexpetedly. Please try again" and the button FORCE CLOSE

3- many messages like that follow each other saying the same about: Task Provider and Logs Provider, Social HUB, Messaging, IM, AP Mobile and so on, endlessly, blocking any possibilty to do anything.

Since the messages just overlap each other at an incredible speed I cannot get to the SETTINGS choice to do a factory restart.

The phone freezes just showing one warning after another and thereīs no way to stop them.

I tried turning off, removing battery, removing SIM card, leaving 2 hours off and without the battery, but to no avail

Lost my phone only 3 weeks old?

Looked at both Manuals, Quick Start and User Guide but both gave options that did not help and that I listed above (go to SETTINGS and do factory reset) which I cannot obviously access.

Maybe this is my last phone from Sansung AND ANDROID. Does anyone knows how to get this stupid phone working? Is Samsung or Google reading those complaints?
    Do they care?
I am alone in this problem? I looked elsewhere on the Forum and could not find anyone with my problem.
Cannot make calls, cannot receve call... very annoying...
Thanks if thereīs anyone out there that can help me.

By the way I also did try holding the power button in for a while and reseting it that way. Didnīt help at all...

Yes a factory reset should sought out your problem. This is usually caused by corrupt data and your not alone even computers forget where they stick things

I'm not sure this is right for your phone as I've only used SGS, but a little look at the forum will help.

With phone off > Vol+, Home, Power > Select Factory Reset > Yes > Restart phone

A Warning: You may need to re-flash your phone. Phone may not reboot (Leave for at least 5 minutes after reset), or the problem may persist, or you maybe ok and just want to learn how to flash your phone and the joys of custom firmwares

How to get into recovery mode to do a wipe data/factory reset.

    1. Turn off your Galaxy S II phone. 2. Now hold the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons of your Galaxy S2 smartphone until the Samsung logo comes up.
    3. When you see the Samsung logo; quickly release the buttons for half a second and then hold them again.

Now your Galaxy S II will boot into its Recovery mode. Use the volume keys to navigate to wipe data/factory reset and then the home button to make your selection.

Thankx both you up there! It took me a while but itīs fixed. Now Iīll just read all the info that all you members posted so I'll become more galaxy wise. By the way, would you sugest that I do a titanium backup and what the hell is this. What about rooting? It is advisable? Thanks again!

Can anyone explain why this problem happened to my GSII?? My fault? Androids Fault? Samsung?

It's just one of those things, I think its more to do with the TWLauncher, I personally recommend Go Launcher Ex for your UI instead

Yes and its what it says it is. Backs up all your apps (Not system apps), data and system data. More info on the forums and I'd say its a must have

What about rooting? It is advisable?
Well there is a Q&A about this, but Titanium Backup needs this so is advisable Also long story short: Rooting gives you administrator rights on your phone instead of just user rights
