What rom is recomended?

Hi,

Going to get my new Galaxy S tomorrow, what rom is recomended?, i see that JG5 is out, do the root work on that ?

MoDaCo Custom ROM, is that any good? That one is "only" JG1?

And one other thing... Is 2.2 out to this phone (I know that Samsung have not released any official)

thats my exact question i was going to ask,im on r2 at the min but i have cooked a new update without wave secure but before i install i wanted to know if the Doc's StockRomMod V1 (XWJG5) was any better
and if i where to choose Doc's StockRomMod V1 (XWJG5) i would have to update to XWJG5 via odin first then update using update folder for Doc's StockRomMod V1 (XWJG5)
is that right

It works well, no big lag issues for me, and I like the orange colored theme.

You just have to try out a few different ROMs and pick the one you like the most. MoDaCo R3 will probably be released today (according to a post made by Paul O'Brien yesterday) or maybe in a day or two... If it's based on JG5 I will flash it. If it's JG1 or JG3 I think I will stick to SamSet for now.

This is what happens once you root and flash custom ROMs... You keep going back and forth between different ROMs and as soon as something new comes out, you start wondering "hmmm... I wonder if it's better than the ROM I have now..."

Personal preference really. JG1 with Modaco R2 is very popular not that I know a thing about it as mines still stock XD lol R3 is out now too so I've seen in another thread.

And yes. 2.2 is definitely coming to the SGS. Hopefully pretty soon too.
