Don't bother with Darky 10.1 if you're looking for something 'different'. I flashed it yesterday and it's just more of the same. I'm actually getting quite bored with Darky![]()

So would you say it's worth flashing 2.3.4? Does it bring anything new to the OS other than the FFC and the android OS fix as I never suffered from that problem anyway![]()
Not been on it long enough to comment yet mate, but I'll let you know if I find anything noteworthy.
My next investigation is the possibility of flashing a Voodoo-based Kernel over this one...
EDIT: FYI it does come with Swype.
ANOTHER EDIT: It doesn't come with the "CRT OFF" screen shutdown anim, but you can get something VERY similar from the "Screen Off & Lock" App. Doesn't have the sexy overscroll effect either which is a bit disappointing. And only one unlock screenmmrgh stock Android sucks compared to the modded stuff.

I just made the mistake of trying to download ans install the beta version of Swype.
Well that didn't go well.
I didn't read the instructions fully and as I already had it installed (I'm on Ficeto's JVP Odin followed by CWM to get Swype) it didn't work after a reboot. Now trying to get it back on again.
Hmm doesn't sound like I'm going to gain much from this then. I might give CM7 a go, not tried that yet![]()
Worth a try, its still classed as experimental, though it is nearly there - there are updates either daily or every 2nd day, easily flashed by CWM or Rom Manager. For initial flash just follow instructions on XDA thread OP, you have to start off at froyo with correct bootloader.
All I can say is that I have tried many custom roms, mostly getting fed up or frustrated with most of them but I am very happy with this one, biggest moan was battery consumption but it is getting better and better. I cant see myself going back to samsung roms now.

Jimc - do you have the link available at all? I tried finding some info on CM7 but couldn't find where to download it and flash it?!
Thanks![]()
