Bluetooth v3 to bluetooth v3 theoretical max transfer speeds?

I'm going to have a bluetooth 3 laptop soon. Does anyone what kind of maximum speeds I should be able to get with BT3 to BT3 transfers. I can't seem to find out via google

I'm hoping it will be fast enough to forget about using the damn cable all the time?

Max Theoretical speed of 24Mbit/s or so I've read. Reality will be less of course but I'm not sure by how much as I have nothing to test it with

For comparison's sake, Bluetooth 2.0 had a theoretical max of 3Mbit/s but reality was more like 2.

Oh nice, so I should get some decent speed then. I'll try it out as soon as I get my new laptop with bluetooth 3 hopefully tomorrow.

I'd say don't expect more than 10-12Mbit/s - just to avoid disappointment... Even so, that's definitely decent for wireless transfer... God, there's cables everywhere... I have 2 USB cables on my desk right now, 2 more at my other computer, and one in the bedroom... For those bedroom USB needs.

Well Bluetooth 3.0 piggy backs off of wifi which is why it is so much faster. Typical Bloothtooth was picky didn't like a weak or strong signal, not sure of BT3, can't find a BT3 dongle for a PC

Oh not so lucky, its bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. So the speeds are nothing special. I was hoping it had bluetooth 3 but my models build date was before the revision with bluetooth 3.
