I do face the same problem.....to add to this problem sometimes my phone goes to speaker automatically when making or receiving the call....this is intermittent.

Does anybody have this problem as well?

I continue to experience this problem but I have not yet put the phone through its paces like CaptainJack69 has.

Last night, I experienced the problem during a Google Video chat call. As soon as I ended the call and re-connected the problem disappeared. Looks like a real bug, and not a hardware issue. Has anyone tried the latest European firmware? XXHK3? I am going to try that on my phone tonight and see if Samsung has addressed the issue. There is no way that the millions of people in Asia have not been experiencing this issue as well. Perhaps Sammy has already fixed it.

    Hi Guys,

I am the creator of this thread, so I have had this most annoying problem for some time now the last 5-6 weeks I have, however, not had the problem at all... By coincidence I found an article on a Danish mobile webpage, which described the problem I/we all suffer from. They explained that it was a combined issue between the phone company 3 and Samsung's Gingerbread.

The good news is that Samsung fixed the problem in a new update. So if you have a pc (if you only got Mac, you should find a friend with a real pc because Kies only runs on windows) and install Samsung's program Kies. You are now able to hook you phone up to the pc and through Kies upgrade it and the problem should be fixed (new version is called XWKF4)

Hoped this helps some of you guys.

    /cheers

    Hi,

Upgraded my phone yesterday as Juhloz wrote. today everything has worked as expected - no problems at all calling people - NICE!
It seems that Samsung has fixed another bug regarding the switching between 3G and H+. Before the upgrade browsing the internet was horrible because the phone switched between 3G and H+. Every switch caused the browser to stop working - and you had to do a manually refresh. This problem has dissapeared as well.

    Regards Morten

Just so you know, KF4 was released in the middle of June, not all carriers release updates straight away so have a look here. A lot of things have been improved and the firmware is android 2.3.4 now (KH..)

hey! i have recently purchased a samsung GT-S5830 (Android Version: 2.3.5) and i try to connect it with my car(Mercedez B-class) using bluetooth. everything seems to work well except when i receive a call i can not hear the sound from the car's speakers and i only listen it from the phone's speaker. However i tried with an Iphone and it works properly. It seems to be an issue with my Samsung GT-S5830 phone.
    could you please help me?

Just wanted to thank you for posting this. I was having the same issue with my phone. I couldn't hear anyone that called me and they couldn't hear me. I had tried everything, then I saw your post about putting the phone on Airplane mode and then switching it back. It worked!!! I'm so grateful to you for taking the time to post this. I was about to do a factory reset or take it to a store to see if they could fix it. You saved me a lot of work and possibly a lot of money. Thank you again!!!!
