Phone finally here, two days of play.....?????

Hi to all,
Well as said have had phone for two days now, been playing with it, using the wifi, downloaded some apps, loaded videos and music through Kies, played some free games and played with the apps.
Have used for messaging, no calls yet.
So question or wondering where to now?

This is my first smartphone and first phone with internet.

With that in mind would i benefit from rooting the phone? I am more than happy with the process and will do it if it is of benefit as a very new user.

what apps would you recommend that I NEED or MUST HAVE , and for these do i need to root the phone?

How can I measure the battery life? I am, i would guess a lite user, well at the moment, think that is the whole new thing and not being used to all the functions. Do i just charge to 100 then look at clock and then look at battery later and look at clock?

I would say that I am having no screen issues at all, at this stage, this could be cause the screen in amazing to my eyes and so different to a very small "normal" screen.

The keyboard is great and am loving the qwerty style.

Overall I love this new 'toy' that I have bought. So much different to my old phone that any information and help would be greatly appreciated. I have read and read and read about the phone and now starting to read about this next step.

If you look at about phone and battery use you will see whats been using it.

As regarding rooting it have you de branded it first or at least running ke7? If so try a custom rom.

I have looked at the phone use and most seems to be the screen.
I am sure it is on Ke7.
It was an unlocked phone when i got it, as in from handtec in uk, so not attached to a company.
I am in the UAE for now, leaving in 3 weeks.

Is it worth Rooting, Yes. Does it give you a performance boost, No. Then why would I want to Root? Because you get to use an app called Titanium Backup, why would you want this? Because you can backup you apps and there data, plus your system data just in case crap happens. Also you can uninstall some of the system apps that you don't want. Its win, win

(I believe I should get paid commission for the amount of times I mention Titanium Backup, I could be rich, Rich I say Hahahahahahahahaha)

Surely you can do this with Kies?

Not the same thing you could back up all your user apps and important data and install them onto a replacement phone with titanium backup. Kies doesn't do all that and crashes at least once a second. Also with titanium as said you can freeze all the bloatware and make the phone faster and increase battery life significantly. Also lots of apps require root access and things like changing lcd density need it I think.

Oh and ti backup uploads to dropbox which is very cool if for say you lost your phone.

I honestly don't think there is anything out there yet that I want or need that I can't have due to not having Sudo privileges... however being able to freeze or delete some of this "Hub" Crap would be nice.

This is my first android phone so i'm a bit unsure as to what is "bloat ware" from samsung, and what is actually googles own software. Does anyone have a list of "safe to delete" applications?
